By PCInvasion Staff JThroughout its successful Kickstarter campaign, Camelot Unchained has always been billed as an atypical MMO. Use a blueprint or prefabs to quickly erect your house or go for complete customization using cells. Through the use of the Building System, players will be able to literally build entire towns, wall them off, and dwell in them for as long as the enemy permits. Camelot Unchained is a post-apocalyptic world and needs to be rebuilt. Rebuilding won't be as painful however because CU will allow blueprints to be created once buildings are finished. All buildings constructed in contested lands can be destroyed, deconstructed, or captured by the enemy. Buildings will take time to build and will also take time to destroy. This will allow for true free-form building or you can use prefabs to speed up the process. A world with no creatures or NPCs though would be pretty boring so there will still be monsters and guards. ![]() Team focused PvP will be the only way to progress. Instead of being everything for everyone CSE is focusing on just the gamers that want the thrill of matching their wits against another human being. They are self-publishing and are going to self-fund a large percentage of the game. CSE have some extremely interesting ideas for what an MMORPG should be in the future and even if it doesn't fund I think you will see developers attempt to implement some of their ideas. Therefore, weekend beta tests will assume their role.I'm a backer of this project on Kickstarter, we are in need of more backers and more funds. On the other hand, daily testing is going to be benched, as it cost City State Entertainment too much time and money to be worth it. Jacobs mentioned that the new plans involve beta tests every weekend, provided the one on 31 July 2018 goes well and web API passes the testing. It is a good thing to see that the beta wasn't pushed back too far though, as it was originally planned for 04 July 2018. It would also be helpful if the test participants over the weekend provided feedback on new additions and adjustments. Simply being there is enough to test the web API though, which has already passed the in-house tests. Technically, anyone who jumps in will need to either just walk around or try to break the game in any way possible. He has stated that they will need to do this test on Saturday, 28 July 2018 before firing up the beta engines and if they couldn't get enough players then, they would try again on Sunday, 29 July. Mark Jacobs has mentioned that this little caveat is connected to the player numbers - City State Entertainment have been trying to get 500 players together at the same time in order to stress test the servers, but haven't been able to do so yet.
